We have received some more details about the Owners of the land , the document that shows their ownership over the land and some details regarding partners etc:
The text:
Hi Vismay, to tell you a bit more about Frisia Dos: Frisia Dos is a Costa Rican company that is owned by 4 Dutch families. Most of the family members live in Holland, but some live in the US and I live in Scotland. The company was founded 24 years ago with the aim of growing teak. Teak was planted on two plantations in the south of CR and a third plantation (Francia) was bought a few years later. The investment horizon was always around 20-25 years. The objective wass to grow teak and then once the teak was mature, harvest the teak, sell it and then sell the land. Two out of three of our plantations have been fully harvested and the third still has some trees left on it. As you know, the day to day operations are managed out of CR by Huite Zijlstra and Jit Coers and I am the chairman of the company. One other director lives in Texas and has a Costa Rican wife and travels to CR regularly. The company is registered in CR and you have the registration number in the contract, so you can look it up online in the local company registry (have not done this myself, so can't tell you exactly how to do it, but I'm sure someone can tell you). I'd be happy to answer any specific questions any of your partners may have in a zoom call.
Thanks Vismay.
Some due diligence:
I would need more information. Specifically a proof of ownership of the land and a comprehensive profile of the seller (business-bank account connection, business-people (running the corporation) connection, land-business connection etc.).
For now I only have the business registration screenshot of "Frisa Dos Sociedad Anonima".
Did you buy the other parts of the land in Florestral also from the same owners and therefore you know they are trustworthy?
As for us we have never met those people, nor heard anything about them or seen them - sitting on the other side of the planet makes it a bit difficult to verify.
These are, next to the financial and legal structure of the SOL Association (incorporated for the expansion) still the most important issues to overcome.
Furthmore I'd need intel on the lawyer firm "Amber", I'm still in the dark who they / he / she / it is.
Thanks,
sending blessings and some freezing winter vibes to the Family and the Forest!
